Mission San Luis Rey is the
largest of the California missions and a national landmark. Franciscan friars at the mission
conduct regular tours. This church still holds regular worship services and hosts special
functions during the week.
Founded on June 13, 1798 by Fr. Fermin de Lasuen and currently operated by the Franciscan Friars of California, the mission provides both guided and
self-guided tours, a museum, gift shop, Franciscan Retreat Center, and Cemetery as well as various functions and events.
Retreat center includes swimming pool, volleyball courts, basketball courts and gardens.
Tour Oceanside Harbor
Oceanside Harbor is home to 950 boat slips, a private yacht club, several hotels, restaurants and
gift shop boutiques. Also has one of the best beaches in North County and is a popular for a wide range of
boating and watersports activities.
Camp Pendleton USMC
The largest amphibious training facility in the nation, Camp Pendleton
is home to 35,000 active duty Marines and their dependents of the U.S. 1st Marine Division and related units.
