Oak Grove Butterfield Station

This 1858 one-story adobe building is a rare example of a stage station remaining along the old stage route. The Butterfield Overland Mail Route operated from 1858 to 1861 from Arkansas, across the southwest, to California. A full trip usually took about 25 days.

Palomar Observatory - CalTech
Palomar Observatory is home to the historic Hale 200-inch telescope. Other facilities on the mountain include the 60-inch, 48-inch, 18-inch and the Snoop telescopes. The 60-inch telescope is home to the Automated Transient Observing System. The 48-inch telescope is home to the Near-Earth Asteroid Tracking and Palomar-QUEST surveys.

Mataquay Scout Ranch - BSA Summer Mountain Camp
Camp Mataguay is operated by the Boy Scouts of America - San Diego Council. This year round facility is open to all Scouting units and other non-Scout organizations. Summer camp offers rifle, archery, swimming, camping, rock-climbing and handicrafts merit badge programs.

Schoepe Lost Valley Scout Reservation
One of the best BSA Summer Camps in California, Lost Valley is located in the remote northeast corner of the San Diego County Wilderness near Warner Springs. It actually consists of two seperate Camp Operations.
