For more than 50 years Edwards Air Force Base, home of the Air Force Flight Test Center, has been the home of more major milestones in flight than any other place on earth. Covering nearly 308,000 acres, Edwards is located in the Mojave Desert, adjacent to the largest dry lakebed in North America, Rogers Dry Lakebed.

Discover the exciting history of Edwards AFB and its magnificent flight test heritage by viewing the museum's exhibits and its extensive collection of aerospace vehicles.

This Aviation Museum features over 80 aircraft in their collection, with 40 on display (36 at Edwards and four at the AFFTC-managed Blackbird Airpark in Palmdale) and the remainder in storage or restoration. Other artifacts in the collection include aircraft propulsion systems, missiles, hardware, life support equipment, technical drawings, test reports, personal memorabilia, photographs, and wind tunnel models.

Blackbird Airpark is the only display of the Blackbird series of military aircraft featuring the Lockheed SR­71A Blackbird reconnaissance plane, its predecessor, the A­12 test plane, and the ultra­secret D­21 drone. The recently completed Blackbird Heritage Wall provides information on the designers, crew members and others associated with the aircraft.

The Antelop Valley area consists of high desert covering Northern Los Angeles County, Southwestern Kern County and the western edge of the Mojave Desert.
