Fort Tejon State Historic Park - Kern County
Living History Day / Civil War Reenactments
Restored U.S. Army Dragoon post dating back to 1854-64. The troops were responsible for the security of Southern California.
Also home to the experimental U.S. Camel Corps - 34 camels that hauled supplies from San Antonio and help to survey the
California-Nevada region. Museum onsite.

Each spring, these fields come alive with the seasonal surprises of the Mojave Desert Grassland habitat. The duration and intensity
of colors and scents vary from year to year. Although the wildflower season generally lasts from as early as mid-February
through mid-May, the park is open year-round from sunrise to sunset.
