Palmdale (pop:148,000) is one of the major towns in the heart of the Antelope Valley. In 1962 it was the first to form into a city.

For the last couple decades, Palmdale has consistently ranked as one of the top 25 fastest growing communities in the USA, fueled by spillover from the Greater Los Angeles region.

Early settlers first arrived in Palmdale in about 1886. Apparently they mistook the local Joshua Trees for Palm Trees. Palmdale was primarily an agricultural community until the outbreak of World War II, when nearby Edwards Air Force Base and a number of other related aerospace facilities were developed.

See 14 retired military aircraft on static display plus a 1/8 scale model of the B-2 Spirit, an AGM-28 Hound Dog Missile and various components from other aircraft. Additionally, a B-52 and C-46 are currently being restored and will be placed on static display in the near future.
