Two USNF Sno-Parks are maintained just off the Ebbetts Pass Highway (SR-4) near Bear Valley. USNF Parking and SnoPark Permits are required. Overnight in-vehicle camping is permitted.

Location: On SR-4 Just pass the Bear Valley turnoff;
This SnoPark provides access to the groomed snowmobile trail along Highway 4 to Highland Lakes. There is also access along this trail to a network of marked and unmarked cross-country ski routes. Parking is adjacent to the highway winter closure gate.

This SnoPark provides access to a 15 mile network of groomed snowmobile trails to Spicer, Union, and Utica Reservoirs.

Camp Wolfeboro [MDSC]
BSA High Sierra Wilderness Camp

Camp Wolfeboro (founded in 1928) is a BSA Summer Camp ideally located in the high Sierra Nevada Mountains on the shores of the Stanislaus River near Bear Valley CA. Currently, Camp Wolfeboro is used for 8 weeks each summer as a regular accredited BSA summer camp where it is host to as many as 500 Scouts per week, with a total summer attendance of more than 1,600 Scouts. Since 2005, the camp has also run an approximately six-week Fall Camp program designed for individual Scout troops and Venturing crews to use the property for rock-climbing, waterfront activities, and shooting sports. The fall program immediately follows the end of the regular 8-week summer season. Camp Wolfeboro was founded by the Berkeley Council in 1928 in the area known as Hell's Kitchen, across the river from a family-oriented camp, Camp Baxter.

Aquatic activities take place along the Stanislaus River waterfront and include swimming, canoeing and rowing. Other facilities including target shooting ranges, nature study, scoutcraft and a number of hiking trails. Special programs include the three day Summit Wilderness Trek, a great backpacking adventure for older scouts.
