Morro Bay is truly natures paradise. The bay is home to many species of birds and sea life. While strolling along the waterfront you may notice the many seals and sea otters playing in the harbor or the pelicans diving for a meal.

Morro Bay features lagoon, beach and natural bay habitat as well as the Natural History Museum. The bay’s most prominent landmark is Morro Rock. The park has opportunities for sailing, fishing, hiking, and bird watching. The park also has a colorful marina and an 18-hole public golf course.

This tourism friendly resort town is located on scenic highway one midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Visitors can enjoy mild weather and a wide range of outdoor and indoor attractions such as local state parks, Hearst Castle, the Museum of Natural History and Morro Bay Aquarium.

Travel along the famous Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Barbara to Monterey Bay and you will find many secluded hideaways with very romantic settings.

Los Osos Oaks SNR
State Nature Reserve
This Reserve features ancient sand dunes covered with centuries-old coast live oak trees. Some fine hiking trails traverse this reserve and allow visitors to observe native american settlements and local wildlife.

Montana de Oro State Park
A prominent landmark located on the coastline just south of Morro Bay California. It features rugged cliffs, secluded sandy beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills, including 1,347-foot Valencia Peak. Being one of the larger California State Parks it gets nearly one million visitors annually.

Morro Bay California
Guests can spend the day at the Museum of Natural History, the Morro Bay State Park or the Morro Bay Aquarium. Enjoy an array of outdoor activities nearby including golfing, fishing, kayaking and sailing. Take a 12 mile day trip to coastal Cambria and explore Hearst Castle or enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting. Other nearby attractions includes Morro Rock and Mantana De Oro State Park.

San Simeon California
While tourism lodging dominates this coastal strip town, San Simeon has many fine restaurants, gift shops, and miles of raw unspoiled beaches. Recreational resources include famous Pico Creek surf spot, ocean fishing, arrow head hunting and of course beach walking.

Cayucos California
Somewhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco, is what some people call the last of the California beach towns. Cayucos California is a laidback town positioned on the Highway One just north of Morro Bay. Relax with the Pacific Ocean on the west and rolling hillsides of open ranchland to the east.

Beside the array of outdoor activities such as golfing, fishing, kayaking and sailing watch for some of the many events taking place in Morro Bay throughout the year including the Kite Festival, antique car shows and the Harbor Festival.

Showcase for exhibits of local marine life such as sea lions, fish, sharks, octopus, eels, abalone, horseshoe crabs, sea anemones and more. This facility also rescues distressed sea mammals and engages in oceanographic research projects.

Morro Bay Natural History Museum

Interactive displays focus on the ecology of the Morro Bay estuary, including building a sand dune, operating the hydrologic cycle and creating food chains. The museum was built in 1962 on a hill overlooking the Morro Bay estuary.

Fine Restaurants on the Morro Bay Waterfront - Romantic Settings where you can watch harbor seals, sea otters and pelicans play in the water below, amid the backdrop of Morro Bay's working waterfront. Watch for local festivals and bayside parks and attractions. Most restaurants are just a short walk to the big rock or local beachfront.
