Welcome to Clearlake

The city of Clearlake (pop: 13,200) is located at the southeast tip of Clear Lake in Lake County, California. The Clearlake post office opened in 1923, changed its name to Clearlake Park in 1937, and changed it back in 1980 when Clearlake incorporated.

Clear Lake, one of the largest clearwater lakes in Northern California, 19 miles long and 8 miles at its widest point, is well known for its good fishing, rent boating equipment, parasail rides, gliding, first-rate golf courses within easy driving distance.

Clear Lake State Park - Kelseyville CA
Several fishing organizations call Clear Lake the number one Bass Fishing site in the nation. There are also catfish, blackfish, Sacramento perch, hitch, crappie and bluegill. There are also nature trails to an ancient indian village site and waterfowl nesting areas.

Anderson Marsh State Historic Park - Clear Lake CA
This is a large park preserving the native ancestral home of the ancient Pomo indians who lived here nearly 10,000 years ago. The park also has a number of nature trails to explore the surrounding grass-covered hills, oak woodlands and tule marsh. Other highlights include the historic Anderson Ranch and the annual Bluegrass Festival held the second weekend of September.

Boggs Mountain State Forest

This forest preserve covers nearly 3500 acres of wildland ranging from 2400 to 3750 foot elevation with over 45 miles of trails and two campgrounds covered mostly by Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir trees. Provides wildlife habitat for birds, bear, bobcats, gray fox, mule deer, ornate shrew, raccon and others.
