    Founded in 1932, St. Margaret Mary Church is a Catholic Community of about 600 families. Located in the Imperial Valley some thirty miles north of the international border.

    The original mission, Puerto de la Purísima Concepción, was completed in early 1781 but destroyed in an indian raid later that year and abandoned. The US military operated an outpost here, Fort Yuma (1849-1885). The current Catholic parish Church of St Thomas was dedicated in 1923.
