Heber Dunes State Vehicle Recr Area - Heber CA
343 acres area located south of El Centro. It is primarily used for off-road recreation, however, camping, picnicking, and baseball are also popular activities in the park.

Ocotillo Wells State Vehicle Recr Area - East Borrego
42,000 acres of desert terrain, from below sea level to 400 foot elevations. It is a motorcycle, four-wheel drive, all-terrain vehicle, and dune buggy use area. The wash-and-ridge terrain includes a butte with dunes and a sand bowl, a blow-sand dune, springs and a camp on a former homestead site.

Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge
Protected habitat of 35,484 acres of salt marsh and open water of the southern part of the Salton Sea. Also includes nearby 2,000 acres of pasture and freshwater marsh.

Tour El Centro CA
The commercial hub for the agriculturally rich Imperial Valley. Best crops are tomatoes, sugar beets, melons and lettuce. Most of El Centro is located at elevation 45 feet below sea level.

Holtville Carrot Festival

Holtville calls itself the "Carrot Capital of the World" and to acknowledge such a prestigious title it holds the Annual Carrot Festival every year since 1948 in late January. They refer to it as "The Annual Community salute to the carrot".

The Carrot Festival comprises a week long schedule of cookery contests, music festival and culminating in hugely entertaining street Carnival.
