And that in turn shaped California's culture. Preserving and presenting this reciprocal relationship is the goal of the museum.

Mission Inn Museum
Exhibits, Galleries, Books & Art History Culture The story of the National Historic Landmark Mission Inn stretches over more than a century and began with the Miller family. In 1874 Civil Engineer C.C. Miller arrived in Riverside, began work on a water system and was paid with a parcel of land in the center of the new town where the family started a hotel. His son, Frank Augustus Miller, later bought the property, improved and enlarged it, and by 1903 opened the first wing of the current Mission Inn building. The building grew in several stages and now fills an entire block with gardens and towers, arches and stairways. Throughout the site, visitors are able to view paintings, sculpture and furnishings from the Mission Inn collections.
March Field Air Museum
March Air Reserve Base - Riverside March Field Air Museum, and the P-38 National Museum are adjacent to the March Air Reserve Base. It serves as home to over 70 historic aircraft and many inside displays relating to the history of March Field. Inside you will find thousands of artifacts on display covering the years from 1918 to the present. Also displayed in the hangar are some rare and unusual aircraft, including a P-59 fighter, the first operational jet adopted by the U.S. Air Force over 50 years ago. Facilities include theater, library, museum store and offices.
Riverside Metropolitan Museum [RMM]
The Museum houses over 100,000 artitacts in its collections and 2000 linear feet of archives in the disciplines of Natural History, Anthropology, and History. Permanent and special exhibitions are on display throughout the year and are open to the public free of charge. The Museum also offers educational programs, special cultural events, and school programs.
