The Torrance (pop: 148,300) is the eighth largest city in Los Angeles County, and the 35th largest in the state of California.

This residential and light-high-tech industries city has 90,000 street trees and 30 city parks. Torrance is the headquarters of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy and the birthplace of the AYSO – American Youth Soccer Organization.

Alpine Village hase been celebrating the Oktoberfest 1967. The festival is Celebrated in the beer garden which accommodates up to 3,000 people and includes a Bavarian Brass-Oom Pa Pa band from Germany, German dancers, contests, beer brewed at the Alpine Village and Authentic German food.
