Lava Beds National Monument
This region has witnessed many violent volcanic eruptions over the last half-million years. Many diverse and fascinating volcanic features now mark the landscape. Modoc National Forest
Much of California's remote northeastern corner is included in the Modoc National Forest. There are many mountains, lakes, meadows and significant wetlands here.
