BSA San Diego-Imperial Council [SDIC]
This Boy Scout Council is big and rambunctious, offering a wide range of Scouting activities. There are three Council Camps
and great resources that include world renowned educational institutions, legendary community programs, sporting events,
mountains with wild areas, fascinating history and opportunities for Scouts of all ages, backgrounds and interests.
BSA Camp Fiesta Island
BSA Aquatics Summer Camp on Mission Bay
Located in Mission Bay at the San Diego Youth Aquatic Center - this facility
hosts weeklong summer camp programs for visiting boy scout troops with classes in
Sailing, Boardsailing, Motorboating, Kayaking, Model Rocketry, Swimming, Oceanography and other
classes not available at a typical boyscout mountain camp.
Mataquay Scout Ranch - BSA Summer Mountain Camp
Camp Mataguay is an 840 acre property of the San Diego - Imperial Council.
This year round facility is open to all Scouting units and other non-Scout organizations.
Camp facilities include lodges, cabins, and administration buildings that you can use for unit
training, center of operations, or just as a getaway spot. Summer camp offers
rifle, archery, swimming, camping, rock-climbing and handicrafts merit badge programs.

Pasadena Rose Parade - Dec 31st
- Join thousands of others in the most popular urban campout in the world on New Years Eve
along Colorado Blvd in anticipation of the big parade.
Borrego Desert Mudcaves
- Best in late fall or early spring - remote campsites and miles of mudcaves to explore.
Colorado River Trek
- Canoe, boat or kayak down the lower Colorado River between Blythe and Yuma, camping on the riverside along the way.
USS Midway Overnighter
- Stay overnight on a real aircraft carrier docked in San Diego Bay
Beach Campout
- Best in non-summer months - the weather is usually fair and reservations are easy.
San Diego County Parks
- Look for county parks with Group Site Campground that is big enough to handle large scout groups.
San Clemente Island
- Fishing and camping on San Clemente Island
Southern California Bike Trip
- One week bike trip across California (from Blythe to Carlsbad).
