El Capitan Reservoir
El Capitan Reservoir has the largest capacity in the City of San Diego Lakes system.
It has public access for swimming, boating, and fishing.
It's located approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown San Diego, on the San Diego River.
Lake Cuyamaca
This picture-book 110 acre lake is proof positive that good things come in small packages.
Stocked with over 44,000 lbs. of fish, Lake Cuyamaca is the only San Diego lake that
is able to stock trout all year long. Other species of fish include Florida bass,
smallmouth bass, channel catfish, crappie, bluegill and sturgeon.
Dixon Lake Recreation Area - North Escondido
Fishing lake and campground located immediately south of Daley Ranch.
Night fishing is available during the summer months. Features annual 4-day trout derby in Nov.
Lake Henshaw Resort
Campgrounds, cabins, RV sites, and A sparkling pool and spa, children's playground, grocery store and ice, clubhouse and laundry facilities complete the amenities.
The Henshaw Grill - open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Fishing - Home to Trout, Crappie, Bluegill and Catfish.
Lake Hodges
Park Entrance : From Interstate 15, exit on Via Rancho Parkway, go west to Lake Drive, then south to the lake entrance.;
When full, The Lake Hodges Reservoir has 1,234 surface acres, a maximum water depth of 115 feet, and 27 shoreline miles.
The lake was created by a river control dam built in 1918.
This is the big lake between Rancho Bernardo and Escondido on the San Dieguito River that the I-15 freeway cuts across (built in 1981).
Loveland Reservoir - Fishing
Fish Stock: Bass, Catfish, Bluegill, Red-eared Sunfish;
Loveland Reservoir, near Alpine, has a capacity of 25,400 acre feet.
Its dam is 203 feet high and 765 feet wide, and was completed in 1945.
Lake Poway Recreation Area
Lake Poway offers year-round fishing for several species of fish including trout, bass, catfish, sunfish and bluegill.
You can fish from shore or from a rental boat. Lake Poway offers a fish cleaning station and restroom facilities.
Bait, tackle, State Fishing licenses, lake permits and delicious food items
and refreshments are available at the Lake Poway Concession.
Santee Lakes Regional Park
A convenient adventure on 190 acres just 20 minutes from downtown San Diego,
with access to over 50 miles of regional trails and 300-site campground.
The seven fishing lakes are stocked with Rainbow Trout, Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Bluegill.
San Vicente Reservoir - Lakeside CA
San Vicente is a deep, steep-sided reservoir on San Vicente Creek, approximately 25 miles northeast of San Diego.
It is available for fishing, swimming and boating.
Lake Wolhford - Valley Center CA
Fishing Lake - Permit required / boat rentals available. Bass, crappie, trout, catfish and bluegill.
Buena Vista Lagoon - Carlsbad Beach
Buena Vista Lagoon is a 223-acre wetland habitat located within the cities of Carlsbad and Oceanside.
At least 103 bird species, 18 mammals, and 14 amphibians and reptiles live in and around the lagoon, and many more birds visit during spring and fall migrations.
Agua Hedionda Lagoon
Both a nature encounter area and watersports (jet ski) area.
Beside regular Boat and WaveRunner rentals, this facility manages a youth summer camp operation
with many exciting activities including wakeboarding, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, peddleboating, waverunners, oceanography, beach games
Batiquitos Lagoon
Located on the south side of Carlsbad. It forms the scenic backdrop for
both the Aviara and La Costa Country Clubs and Resort as well as many luxury homes in the area.
