    Anza-Borrego Desert State Park

    Dos Picos County Park - Rosemont CA
    County operated picnic grounds and campground named for two nearby peaks that are easily accessible by a good hike. This park features abundant oaks and mountain terrain. Local inhabitants include coyote, fox, possum, skunk, and raccoon and a large number of birds including great blue herons, great egrets, and several species of ducks can be found on the pond.

    Guajome County Regional Park
    Stradling the northern city boundaries of Oceanside and Vista is this moderate sized wilderness park. Picnic grounds, camping, fishing, nature trails, horse trails. Also home to historic Rancho Guajome Adobe and Antique Steam & Gas Engine Museum.

    Mission Trails Regional Park
    With nearly 5,800 acres of both natural and developed recreational acres, the rugged hills, valleys and open areas. With over 40 miles of trails, boating on Lake Murray, camping at Kumeyaay Lake, equestrian trails, and numerous informative hikes. The Mission Gorge section provides the best rock-climbing experience in San Diego.

    Old Poway Park
    Includes Heritage Museum, operating steam train, and Hamburger Factory restaurant, historic buildings, rental facilities, picknicking.

    Palomar Mountain State Park
    Palomar Mountain State Park features spectacular views of the Pacific, camping, picnicking, hiking, and fishing (trout) in Doane Pond. Coniferous forests cover much of the 1,862 acres, in contrast to the dry lowlands surrounding the mountain. This is one of the few Southern California areas with a Sierra Nevada-like atmosphere.

    Lake Poway Recreation Area
    Located at east end of Lake Poway Road, includes fishing, boating, camping, picnicking, volleyball, softball and Clyde Rexrode Wilderness Area.

    Rancho Bernardo-Glassman Recreation Center

    The recreation center and park are located on 40 acres which consist of an indoor gymnasium, various size rooms for meetings and rent, play areas for young and old, eight ball fields, two outdoor basketball courts, a large outdoor gazebo, six tennis courts, lawn bowling, and Josyln Center. There is also a two acre dog park, located at the south end of the community park.

    Rancho Cuyamaca State Park
    The beautiful park offers camping and hiking in an oak woodland forest, with a sprinkling of pines and lovely meadows with creeks. There are over 100 miles of trails which accommodate hikers, bikers, and equestrians.

    Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve
    This preserve attracts people with its natural beauty and rich natural resources both today and in the past. Native American history within the Preserve dates back as far as 7,000 years ago. Remains of the prehistoric culture can still be found. It is also site of San Diego's first land grant and the oldest private standing structure in San Diego County. The beautiful canyon locale within a 3700-acre open space preserve offers hiking, biking and equestrian trails.

    San Dieguito River Park
    Future parkland property rich in habitat, cultural recreational and scenic values as well as a future route for a Coast-to-Crest Trail.

    San Dieguito County Park - Solana Beach CA
    The four reservable picnic areas at this park are set among towering eucalyptus groves that characterize this part of the county. Only minutes from the ocean, this park is cooled by the sea breezes during warm summer months. A ball field, basketball court, play areas, and hiking trails are nearby for picnickers to enjoy.

    Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve - Julian CA
    Rising over 5,000 feet and covering more than 25,000 acres, this majestic 15 mile ridge lies in the heart of San Diego County's backcountry, stretching from Lake Henshaw to the Anza Borrego Desert with the historic town of Julian at its feet.

    Hellhole Canyon County Preserve
    1712-acre preserve with over 11 miles of hiking and equestrian trails. Explore exquisite oak woodlands, mountain creeks or sweeping hilltop panorama views. This wildlife habitat hosts mountain lion, coyote, rattlesnakes and various bird species.
