In 2005 Athletics team ownership announced plans to build a new team stadium
to be called Cisco Field on a site just north of the Coliseum in Oakland.
The proposal called for a 35,000-seat mix ballpark, residential and retail complex.
The stadium's estimated cost of $350 million will be paid for mostly by the team.
