Buena Park (pop: 78,200) is known internationally as the home of Knott's Berry Farm which began in 1920. Originally founded in 1887 by James A Whitaker as an agricultural center, particularly dairy, wine and citrus products, the city has become primarily a residential suburb since its incorporation in 1953.

  This Orange County Park is located at the foot of the Coyote Hills. The 105 acre property extends north and south with the softball complex. The park lands range from large open grass areas, to gently rolling hills of native plants, to shear sandstone cliffs to the north The park is a rich source of fossils since over 10,000 years ago this site contained marshes, grassy meadows and oak woodlands, inhabited by at least 70 forms of life including the ancient mammoth, ground sloth and ring-tailed cat. Recreational activities include picnicking in large shaded picnic areas, hiking and bicycle trails, and children's playground areas. Spacious play areas include two sand volleyball courts, four tennis courts, three softball fields, and fishing in the well-stocked three acre lake.
