Mission San Juan Capistrano
Mission San Juan Capistrano is the seventh mission founded November 1, 1776, by early Franciscan priests. Today it is a monument to California’s multicultural history, embracing its Native American, Spanish, Mexican and European heritage. Originally built as a self sufficient community by Spanish padres and Indians, the Mission was a center for agriculture, industry, education and religion.

Savoring sun, surf and romantic architecture makes this presidential retreat a hard place to leave.

Old Spanish Village
Start of San Clemente in 1925, includes former city hall and antique shops.

Casa Romantica
Compound of town founder, Ole Hanson and designed by renowned architect Carl Lindbolm. The property offers outstanding views of Catalina Island, the pier and beach.

La Casa Pacifica
This Mansion located on the beaches of San Clemente overlooking the Ocean was famous as President Richard Nixon's Western White House, used while working away from the official presidential residence, the White House. The large, Spanish-style ,California Mission Revival mansion was modeled after a country home in Spain, built in the early days of San Clemente.
Onetime Western White House, purchased by Richard Nixon shortly after he became U.S. President. This house, designed by Casa Romantica architect Lindbolm, once belonged to early resident Hamilton H. Cotton. The blufftop home, now privately owned is shaded by Monterey Cypress and towering palms. While not open to the public, you can see it by walking 3 miles south down the beach from Municipal Pier.

San Clemente Municipal Golf Course
The Pride of the Pacific

Championship 18 hole golf course where Fridays are still weekdays, walkers are still welcome and juniors are always ˝ price. Owned and operated by the City of San Clemente, the course is located approximately one mile from the Pacific Ocean and features ocean views from a number of holes.

Pacifica Golf & Country Club

This course brings the feel of the great seaside links to the Southern California coast. Shorecliffs Golf Course

Location: Northwest corner of San Clemente near Capistrano Beach;
Opened in 1964, this 18-hole public golf course features 6,140 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.4 and it has a slope rating of 130.

San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station SONGS
Located adjacent to San Onofre S.B. This facilities produces about 20% of the total electric power needs of Southern California.

Camp Pendleton USMC
The largest amphibious training facility in the nation, Camp Pendleton covers 17 miles of Pacific coastline north of Oceanside. It is home to 35,000 active duty Marines and their dependents of the U.S. 1st Marine Division and related units. Visitors may tour during daylight hours - enter thru the Main Gate off the I-5 Freeway.
