Private aquarium built on a barge in 1964 and since moved to land. Over a half million gallons of sealife exhibits including sharks, sea lions, rays and wolf eels. Also look for the shark petting pool, tide pools and sea lion shows. There is also the 45-minute guided tour.

Ocean World aquarium is privately owned and operated and has been in Crescent City since 1964. Originally Ocean World was called Under Sea Gardens and was located in the small boat basin. It was a barge that was built in Seattle as an aquarium and floated down to Crescent City and rested in the harbor. Visitors would descend below the surface of the water to observation windows to view the sea life.

In 1985 the barge was moved to dry land and took on a new life as Undersea World aquarium. The aquarium now consists of tanks holding over half a million gallons and an abundance of sea life, including sharks, seals, sea lions, rays and wolf eels. Now with a name change to Ocean World and added attractions of shark petting, interactive tide pool, and a highflying sea lion performance, we have something for the whole family.

Crescent City
Crescent City (pop: 4000) was founded in 1853 as gold-mining supply center. Today its harbor is home to a small fishing industry and the town serves as base for adventures into the nearby Redwood Forests.

Tour Crescent City Harbor
The Crescent City Harbor serves as a commercial fishing boat basin for Salmon, Shrimp, Tuna, Cod, and Dungeness Crab commercial fishing vessels.

North Coast Marine Mammal Center - Crescent City Harbor
private Non-Profit Organization dedicated to Rescue and Rehabilitation of stranded, sick or injured seals and sea lions. The Center was founded and incorporated in 1983 by a Veterinarian, Dennis Wood D.V.M.
