In the many years since its inception in 1910, the San Diego Symphony has become one of the leading orchestras in the United States.
The Symphony offers wide range of concert experiences and performs over 100 concerts each season.
The San Diego Symphony performances include the Masterworks series, offering traditional classical repertoire and featuring such guest artists as
Pinchas Zukerman, Hilary Hahn and Angel Romero; the Winter Pops series, featuring popular guest artists such as Dave Brubeck, Johnny Mathis and Arturo Sandoval,
as well as annual holiday programs; a Family Festival series that presents family-friendly concerts; and the Light Bulb Series, a highly interactive series of
concerts that examine classical music from entertaining and thought-provoking angles. Each year, from July through September, the Symphony presents an outdoor Summer Pops season.
The Summer Pops series mixes classical favorites and pop music in a festive, outdoor atmosphere on San Diego’s picturesque waterfront.

The La Jolla Symphony & Chorus Association is a performance ensemble affiliated with UCSD.
The LJSCA is an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, comprised of volunteer
musicians from all walks of life, including UCSD students, staff and faculty, as well as professional musicians
— a diverse group with exceptional talent and passion for the music it performs.

San Diego's highly popular annual modern music festival has been a big event since its inception in 1984. It will feature local and international bands, street entertainers and many specialty food vendors. Crowd capacity could easily exceed 50,000 at this event.

San Diego Opera was founded in 1950 to present San Francisco Opera productions in the San Diego
community, and became a producing company in its own right in 1965 with its first staging of La bohème in the new Civic Theatre.

San Diego Festival Chorus [MAY / DEC]

75 voice chorus with guest soloists and a symphony orchestra performs great classics twice each year.
This East San Diego non-audition chorus is open to all who enjoy the challenge of learning and performing choral classics
and masterworks. Two concerts each year, as well as several outreach concerts, are planned.
Performances include instrumental ensembles and feature vocal solo artists from the greater San Diego area as well as selected members from the chorus.

Spreckles Organ Pavillion - Balboa Park
Open air theatre with the largest pipe organ in San Diego housed in a magnificent landmark structure.
The centerpiece is a 1915 Austin Organ. Summer evening outdoor concert series and and Sunday Afternoons.
SDSU Music Concert Bands
Affiliated with the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts.
Includes the Marching Aztecs - The focal point of Aztec Pride and one of the premier marching bands in California.
