Scouting programs help young people reach their full potential by turning them away from drugs, gangs, juvenile delinquency and violence and helping them to focus on developing positive traits such as physical and mental fitness, self-worth, self-esteem, self-reliance, personal satisfaction, patriotism, and respect for others.

While camping is one of the primary reasons that a boy joins Scouting, it is also an ideal opportunity to develop character, build teamwork skills and grow as a leader.

Formed by a merger of the San Francisco and Oakland Area Councils. Serving the cities of Colma, Daly City (northern section), San Francisco, Emeryville, Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, Fremont, Union City, Newark, Pleasanton, Dublin, and Livermore, as well as unincorporated communities such as Castro Valley, San Lorenzo, and Sunol. Headquartered in San Leandro, this council surrounds both the Piedmont and Alameda Councils. One of the six councils that serves the San Francisco Bay area.

Camp Royaneh - SFBAC

Camp Royaneh is located in the majestic coastal redwoods near Cazadero, CA. In addition to operating six weeks of Boy Scout residence camp, two weeks of Webelos Adventure Camp, and one weekend of Family Vacation Camp, Royaneh is available for unit use throughout the year. Summer camp programs include shooting ranges, Mountain Man and horsemanship. Facilities include An Archery Range, A Rifle Range, A Shotgun Range, Hiking Trails, A Swimming Pool, COPE Course, Mountain Man Area with black powder, The Diamond R Corral horsemanship program, Lighted amphitheater, Shower House with Flush Toilets, Kitchen and Dining Area, Handicap Accessible Campsites, 5 campsites with Villages.

Camp Rancho Los Mochos - SFBAC
Livermore, CA;
Rancho Los Mochos, located in the hills above Livermore, CA is home to many training courses, Cub Scout camping activities and Spring Camporees. Rancho Los Mochos has many large camp areas, making it ideal for troop, as well as multi-troop functions. Campgrounds feature fire rings for ground fires (restricted use during high fire danger periods), picnic tables and piped water. Facilities include An Archery Range, A Rifle Range, A Shotgun Range, Soccer Field, Hiking Trails, A Swimming Pool, Shower House with Flush Toilets ,Teal Lodge Meeting Hall, Kitchen and Dining Area.

Wente Scout Reservation - SFBAC

Wente Scout Reservation is 2200 acres located in hills outside of Willits, CA. The 80 acre lake offers outstanding swimming, boating, and fishing. Other programs include rock climbing, shooting sports and horsemanship. In addition to operating eight weeks of Boy Scout residence camp and three weekends of Family Vacation Camp, Wente Scout Reservation is available for unit use throughout the year. There are 13 campsites with latrines, picnic tables, and water. Facilies include An Archery Range, A Rifle Range, A Shotgun Range, Hiking Trails, Lake for swimming, great fishing, boating (canoes, rowboats, kayaks, and sailboats), A climbing rock, Mountain bikes and trails, O’Riley’s Outpost black powder program, The Risin’ W Corral horsemanship program, Shower Houses with Flush Toilets, Kitchen and Dining Area.
