One of the most famous horse racing venues in the country. Since its opening in 1934 the track has grown to be considered the best in wintertime horse racing in the United States and around the world. Breeders Cup [Late October] - The 20th running of the Breeders' Cup, consisting of eight races with purses and awards totaling $13 million. Sponsored by the Oak Tree Racing Association.
Santa Anita Derby [April] - American Grade 1 thoroughbred horse race for three-year-olds run each April at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California and carries a purse of $750,000.
Santa Anita Handicap [Late Winter] - This ten furlong horse race offers a prize purse of $1,000,000 each winter race season at Santa Anita.
