Scouting programs help young people reach their full potential by turning them away from drugs, gangs, juvenile delinquency and violence and helping them to focus on developing positive traits such as physical and mental fitness, self-worth, self-esteem, self-reliance, personal satisfaction, patriotism, and respect for others.

While camping is one of the primary reasons that a boy joins Scouting, it is also an ideal opportunity to develop character, build teamwork skills and grow as a leader.

Camp Cherry Valley SGVC
BSA Camp - Catalina Island

Since 1925, Cherry Valley has been one of the most popular of all Boy Scout Camps with a great spot for many water sports including snorkeling, Scuba diving, canoeing, rowing, sailing and swimming. Because it is located on the leeward side of the island, the cove is calm making it a perfect place for lots of fun in the water. Hikes over mountainous terrain, war canoe races, touring an old silver mine, a sea lab with a touch tank so you can learn about local marine life is available.



Holcomb Valley Scout Reservation [SGVC]
BSA Wilderness Camp - Big Bear
San Bernardino Mountains High Country Camping - Holcomb Valley Scout Reservation is located on a high country meadow near Big Bear and surrounded by tree covered hills and mountains. Holcomb Valleyprovides programs for all ages and stages of Scouting. Programs include horsemanship, rock climbing and mountain biking.

Camp Trask [SGVC]
Camp Trask is a special place, tucked into Monrovia Canyon, only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. A brief drive up a meandering road camp and you are suddenly into a calming wilderness setting. The silence in camp is broken only by the sound of the year-round stream which flows through camp. There are no city lights, so you can see the stars at night.
