Boulder Creek Scout Reservation
BSA Wilderness Camp
Santa Cruz Mountains
Suitable for outdoor activities in the redwood forests of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
The camp covers over 300 acres of varied terrain and borders the lush Bear Creek where salmon and steelheads spawn.
They offer historic hiking trails as well as a quiet and serene
camping atmosphere, a pavilion for crafts and presentations, campfire circle, outdoor chapel, archery and rifle range.
Cabrillo Beach Youth Waterfront Sports Center [LAAC]
In 1946, the LAAC leased the 12.3 acred Cabrillo Camp property. It is located at the base of the cliffs directly below Fort MacArthur.
The camp was open to both Scouts and other youth groups and teaches aquatics related merit badges year-round.
In the late 70s, the Port of Los Angeles granted the scouts a long-term lease.
In 1987, the Spielberg Center donationa added a swimming pool, campgrounds, dining area, craft center, Scout Shop, staff quarters, boat house and amphitheater.
Camp Chawanakee - SC
BSA Wilderness Camp - Shaver Lake
Founded on Shaver Lake in 1946 and today operates nine one-week long summer scout camp sessions
capable of handling 500 scouts at a time.
There is the Trail to First Class program for new and junior scouts as well as the opportunity
for Scouts to earn their choice of over 40 merit badges. For the more accomplished Scouts
there are the Trails of Chawanakee, The 52' climbing tower, rifle and shotgun shooting, sail
boating, C.O.P.E. Course and overnight adventure outings.
Camp Cherry Valley SGVC
BSA Camp - Catalina Island
Since 1925, Cherry Valley has been one of the most popular of all Boy Scout Camps with
a great spot for many water sports including snorkeling, Scuba diving, canoeing, rowing, sailing and swimming.
Because it is located on the leeward side of the island, the cove is calm making it a perfect place for lots of fun in the water.
Hikes over mountainous terrain, war canoe races, touring an old silver mine, a sea lab with a touch tank so you can learn about local marine life is available.
Camp Chesebrough - SCCC
BSA Wilderness Summer Camp
Chesebrough Scout Reservation is a 544 acre camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains of Santa Cruz and San Mateo counties, California.
The camp is available for year round for troop campouts, Order of the Arrow events and Wood Badge trainings; and as a Cub Scout day camp and a junior leadership resident camp during the summer.

Mountain Wilderness Camp at Cisco Grove
This summer adventure wilderness camp feature program opportunities for scouting advancement.

Cutter Scout Reservation PSC
BSA Wilderness Camp
Located in the Santa Cruz Mountains,in some of the last old-growth redwoods on the west coast at about 2200 ft elevation.
Cutter is over 300 acres in size with a lake, full sport shooting area including an archery range,
magnificent pool as well as four cabins that can sleep eight people each.
Del Webb High Adventure Base - LVAC
Manti-LaSalle Mountains, Utah
This High Adventure Camp located in the Manti LaSalle Mountains near Zion National Park in southern Utah is designed for older scouts.
Units hike into outpost areas carrying a five to six days supply of food and their gear. Some of the features are mountain man camp,
Indian village, black powder, backpacking, mountain bikes, canoeing, sailing and windsurfing, rappelling, homesteading, and rock climbing.
Zion treks are also offered and are sure to be a highlight of any week.

BSA Catalina Island Adventure Camp
Scout Troops come from all over the United States to spend a week by her crystal clear waters.
The facilities have, over the last several years, been brought into the 21st century offering a state-of-the-art marine science center, rifle range, handicraft lodge as well as the premiere waterfront.
Rugged "E" includes kayaking, hiking, aquatic COPE events, overnight trips, day and night snorkeling trips and mountain biking.

Set amongst towering pine trees, high in the mountains overlooking Southern Califonia, Camp Emerson features a complete
BSA Summer Camp program including shooting ranges, scoutcraft, nature, and other merit badge programs.
Lake Gallaher usually holds more than 3 acre feet of water, making it big enough to support canoeing, rowing, fishing, and other water activities.
Klondike Derbies happen regularly during winter weekends in the snow.
Other activities include the Tahquitz Peak Hike, and Brown High Adventure Area.

Firestone Scout Reservation - LABSA
San Gabriel Valley Wilderness Camp
Firestone Scout Reservation is nestled in Tonner Canyon just east of SR-57 between Brea and Diamond Bar, California.
Facilities include wilderness trails, archery and gun range, orienteering, camping and wildlife.
Firestone has sites for small groups as well as those needing space for over 1,000 people.

Camp Hi-Sierra - SCCC

Camp Josepho - WLACC
BSA Wilderness Camp - Pacific Palisades
Camp Josepho is nestled into remote Rustic Canyon near the beaches of Pacific Palisades and Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains.
Activity areas include an olympic size pool with flush toilets and hot showers, a separate range for BB shooting, rifle and archery and an outdoor setting for campfires, nature and Scoutcraft.
Camp Kern - SSC
BSA Wilderness Camp - Huntington Lake
Located on one of the most famous sailing lakes in California at 7000 foot elevation
in the high Sierras. Camp Kern features a traditional scout camp experience
surrounded by a wide range of nature and wildlife. Camp Kern borders

1120 Acre high desert facility located on Potosi Mountain, 25 miles west of Las Vegas.
Camp Potosi has over four miles of roads, eleven miles of hiking trails, 70 troop campsites, latrines, washstands,
two shower buildings, swimming pool, well and water storage system, activity shelters, camp office trailer, trading post, large amphitheater,
canoeing pond, rappelling tower, Indian Village, Trail to First Class Program Area, provisional Troop, and Serenity Hall.

FLSR is a group of Boy Scout and Cub Scout Resident Summer Camps
located 3 miles east of Lake Arrowhead, California on more than 2,000 acres in the San Bernardino National Forest.
They offer a wide range of Merit Badges and activities. Areas include Ecology/Conservation, Handicrafts, Swimming, Scout Craft, Path finding,
Horsemanship, C.O.P.E., Climbing, John Wayne Outpost, Loggers Jamboree outpost, Archery, Shotgun Shooting, and Riffle Shooting to name a few.
This facility also operates winter camps and Mountain Man Thunder in November and a Cub Scout resident summer camp.

Camp Lindblad offers year-round traditions and wilderness camping on over 200 acres (0.81 km2) in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains.

Log Cabin Wilderness Camp - Inyo [LAAC]
High adventure scouting base camp of the Los Angeles Area Council located in the Inyo National Forest at 9640 foot elevation.
The camp is near the Tioga Pass Road on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada bordering the Hoover Wilderness and Yosemite National Park.
COPE Course and one-week backpacking trips into the Yosemite Wilderness. 18 preplanned trek itineraries available that
include peak climbing, day hikes, rock climbing, trail cooking, Ranger Training, great fishing and peak bagging.
Camp Marin Sierra [MC]
BSA High Sierra Camp
The 320 acres of Camp Marin Sierra are located in the redwoods of the Tahoe National Forest at an elevation between 5,500 and 5,600 feet.
Chubb Lake provides the camp with virtually all the aquatic programs Scouting has to offer except motor boating and waterskiing,
which are conducted as a Hi-Adventure activity at nearby Lake Spalding.
Mataguay Scout Ranch - SDIC

Camp Mataguay is an 840 acre property of the San Diego - Imperial Council.
This year round facility is open to all Scouting units and other non-Scout organizations.

Oso Lake Boy Scout Camp OCBSA
The Oso Lake facility is currently available for open camping and the council offers organized

Camp Pico Blanco is located in the Big Sur Coast area of Central California, just 12 miles south of Carmel off Highway 1 and inland 13 miles on Palo Colorado Road.
The camp is situated on over 800 acres along the North Fork of the Little Sur River and is surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest and bordered by the Ventana Wilderness area.
Resident Camps, Staff Trainings, Scouters' Retreats, Mountain Man Rendezvous, and Eagle Requirement Camp are among the events held here annually.
Rancho Alegre Scout Camp [LPC]

Rancho Alegre is located in the wooded oak foothills of the Santa Ynez Mountain Range of the Los Padres National Forest, approximately 20 miles north of Santa Barbara.

One of the best BSA Summer Camps in California, Lost Valley is located in the remote northeast corner
of the San Diego County Wilderness near Warner Springs. It actually consists of two seperate Camp Operations.
It is a rustic wilderness camp with 1,400 acres of oak, pine and chaparral, bordered by the Cleveland National Forest.

Camp Silver Fir - VHC
BSA Base for Individual Unit Summer Camp
A base camp for units that want to mix the beauty and solitude of the western slopes of the High Sierras with
the opportunity of carrying out their own high adventure program using their own leadership.
Camp Silver Fir does not operate on sessions. Units can begin and end their stay on the days most suitable for their program.
The season at Camp Silver runs from mid-June until mid-September.
Camp Tahquitz - Barton Flats - LBAC
BSA Mountain Camp
Found at the 6500-foot elevation among rolling meadows, cedars, firs, oaks and some of the world's tallest Ponderosa Pines.
In addition to the usual camp buildings, shooting ranges, pool and lake, facilities include a number of secluded outpost camps, a wide-ranging orienteering course,
a COPE course, and four historic log cabins that have been preserved and adapted for use as program centers.
Its location on the edge of the San Gorgonio Wilderness Area offers many opportunities for challenging hikes through the magnificent backcountry.
The camp gets snow roughly mid-December to March.

Camp Tamarancho has over 480 acres of meadows, redwood- and oak-forested campsites.
The camp is just 45 minutes from San Francisco. It hosts several weeks of Cub Scout summer camp each year.
Program areas include a rifle range, archery range, lake with swimming and boating area, game field, picnic area, and world-class bike trails.
Camp Three Falls - VCC

This is the Council where Rock Climbing and Rappelling started in the Scouting Program in 1973.
Camp Three Falls was the first BSA summer camp to offer Rock Climbing and Rappelling as a new program element in scouting.
57-foot Climbing tower was built at Camp Three Falls in the spring of 2003.
Camp Trask [SGVC]
Camp Trask is a special place, tucked into Monrovia Canyon, only minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city. A brief drive up a meandering
road camp and you are suddenly into a calming wilderness setting. The silence in camp is broken only by the sound of the year-round stream which flows through camp.
There are no city lights, so you can see the stars at night.
Camp Verdugo Oaks - VHC

Camp Verdugo Oaks is located 45 minutes north of Glendale off I-5 at Templin Highway set among a stand of ancient California Live Oaks.
CVO also offers a full range of program opportunities, including swimming pool, archery range, BB gun shooting, campfire amphitheater, sports, nature trail and so on.
Wente Scout Reservation - SFBAC
BSA Summer Wilderness Camp near Willits
The 80 acre lake offers outstanding swimming, boating, and fishing. Other programs include rock climbing, shooting sports and horsemanship.
Facilies include An Archery Range, A Rifle Range, A Shotgun Range, Hiking Trails, Lake for swimming, great fishing, boating (canoes, rowboats, kayaks, and sailboats),
A climbing rock, Mountain bikes and trails, O’Riley’s Outpost black powder program.
Camp Whitsett - WLACC
BSA High Sierra Adventure Camp
Camp Whitsett is situated at an elevation of 4300' with its own lake.
Programs are offered for everyone from the first year camper to the skilled veteran in the areas of Aquatics, Field Sports, Handicraft, Nature and Scoutcraft.
Scouts aged 14 and older looking for High Adventure can participate in activities appropriate to their age, including a demanding High COPE course.
Camp Wolverton - WLACC
BSA High Sierra Adventure Camp
Entrance to Sequoia National Park - Most people use it as a base camp prior to leaving on a long term hike - spending only a night or two in camp.
Others spend an entire week, setting up their own summer camp.
Backpacking opportunities abound at Camp Wolverton. The camp is only a quarter of a mile from the Pear Lake and Moose Lake trailhead.
Camp Winton - GEC
Mountain Aquatics Adventure at Bear River Reservoir
Aquatic activities are a specialty at Winton, with water-skiing, sailing and canoeing among those of special interest to scouts.
Overnight canoe treks are available for high adventure programs. BSA High Adventure program called "Mokelumne Expedition." Opened in 1958.
A first-year scout program, Air-Rifle target shooting, archery, arts and crafts, rock climbing, and nature round out the traditional program at Winton.
Camp Wolfeboro [MDSC]

Located on the shores of the Stanislaus River near Bear Valley CA.
Currently, Camp Wolfeboro hosts upto 500 scouts per week for BSA Summer Camp.
In the Fall they host regular Venturing rock-climbing sessions.
Aquatic activities take place along the Stanislaus River waterfront and include swimming, canoeing and rowing.
Other facilities including target shooting ranges, nature study, scoutcraft and a number of hiking trails.
Special programs include the three day Summit Wilderness Trek, a great backpacking adventure for older scouts.

The Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP) features an impressive diversity of nature.
Considered as one of the most unique ecosystems on our planet where there is a serene balance
between ancient coast redwood groves, gray whales, black bears, banana slugs and much more.
Includes Del Norte, Jedediah Smith and Prairie Creek Redwoods State Parks.
Visit the world famous Redwood groves containing the largest redwoods.
Tour Death Valley National Park
This park preserve some of the most extreme terrain in the Western Hemisphere.
Over 3,367,628 acres of scenic desert landscape. Park elevations range from
282 feet below sea-level (at Badwater) to 11,049 at Telescope Peak.
Tour Joshua Tree National Park
Large desert preserve in the Mojave Desert that is a very popular boy scout camping
destination. The landscape is covered with exotic looking Joshua Trees and immense rock
formations are popular for exploring and rock climbing. Temperatures can be quite

Channel Islands National Park
The islands are accessible only by aircraft or boat. But, the park visitors center is located on the mainland shore
in Ventura. Designated as national parkland in 1980, The park consists of principally
five islands: Anacapa, Ventura County, San Miguel, Santa Cruz (largest) and Santa Rosa.

California Whale Watching Tours : Jan-Mar
From January through March, some 28,000 Pacific Gray Whales make their annual migration up along
the coast to their summer Alaska feeding grounds. During the summer Blue and Humpback Whales also
come to visit the local waters delighting visitors with upclose encounters.
California Coastal National Monument
Established in 2000, the California Coastal National Monument runs the entire length of the
California coast (1,100 miles) between Oregon and Mexico, extends 12 nautical miles from the shoreline.
The islands, rocks, reefs, and pinnacles provide forage and breeding grounds for significant populations of
birds and sea mammals.

Aircraft Carrier - Scout Group Sleepover
The USS Midway was the longest-serving carrier in the history of the U.S. Navy. Today she has embarked as a museum, tribute and education center.
This museum features over 28 exhibits and excess to many important areas of this great warship.
Midway is available for a variety of military ceremonies including reenlistments, retirements, change of commands, promotions, pinnings, and commissionings.

Historic Aircraft Carrier that played a major part in the Pacific Sea Battles of World War II, the Vietnam War and was later
instrumental in the recovery of the Apollo 11 and 12 astronauts. Today this floating museum features ship tours
and exhibits of historic vintage and modern combat aircraft and weaponry and a exciting flight simulator ride.
Sleepover activities available for families and youth groups in the crew quarters with meals served in the mess hall.

and provides commanding vistas of volcanic peaks and glaciers in the Cascade Range.
The trail also passes through historic mining sites and evidence of human’s endless quest
for natural resources.
